OnRamps is a dual-enrollment program designed to increase the number and diversity of students who engage in UT-designed college courses aligned with the expectations of leading research institutions. The primary purpose of OnRamps is to accelerate college student success.
OnRamps offers dual-enrollment courses in English, PreCalculus, Statistics, and Computer Science designed by faculty at The University of Texas at Austin, with experts and other partners from within and beyond Texas. OnRamps features include content that is:
- college level
And pedagogy that is:
- based on the latest research on how students learn best
- enhanced by technology and robust learning analytics
Why OnRamps? Because...
...among students who enrolled full-time in Texas public universities in 2002, 75% didn't earn a degree within 4 years, and 34% still hadn't earned a degree 10 years later.
...Texas high school students who complete just one dual credit course are nearly twice as likely to complete a college degree.

Many of our best prepared high school and community college students—even those who have taken the most rigorous coursework offered to them—still struggle in entry-level courses at flagship and other universities. The primary goal of OnRamps is to prepare high school and community college students to succeed in university-level courses.
